What are the steps involved in the Custom Cover Design for
my self-published book?
Once you purchase the Custom Cover Design service, you will be contacted by your
cover designer to set up your cover project. During the call, you can communicate
your ideas regarding the design of your front cover. You can utilize up to two hours
of consultation time. The design can be done using a variety of mediums including
photography and digital rendering using your own images, our stock images, or
a custom illustration can be created in a medium or your choice, such as watercolor,
pastel, ink or graphite.
A concept design will be created and e-mailed
to you within 30 days. You can then either approve the concept proof or request
modifications before it becomes final artwork.
The cover design will be completed within about
30 days and sent for your approval, and then you will receive a copy of the art
to be used as the final cover design. Overall, the entire process takes approximately six to ten
weeks to complete.
Up to 14 hours of design time and corrections
with no additional charges are included. After 14 hours of work, an hourly rate
of $79.00 per hour will apply.

Is there anything I should do in preparation for my design
call?
Prior to your design call, gather your ideas, sketches and notes for quick reference
during the call. You can submit materials, pictures and ideas to your designer.
It might be helpful to have a computer with Internet access nearby in case you need
to reference something quickly. Remember, your cover designer
is there to offer you friendly support and assistance.

What kinds of styles and subjects can your cover designers
create?
The cover can be done using a variety of mediums including ink, watercolor, pastel,
graphite, photography, multimedia and digital formats. Your designer can incorporate
an illustration if desired, and our illustrators can depict a variety of subjects
including, portraits, landscapes, animals, technical drawings, maps, graphs, and
much more.
I don't have any idea what I want my cover to look like.
Can the designer just make something up?
Since you are most familiar with your likes, dislikes and what your book is about,
it is best if you provide some direction for your designer. Although you can give
them creative freedom if you choose, it is more probable that you will like the
first proof of the cover if you give as much input as possible.

Does the Custom Cover Design include a design on the back
cover too?
Yes, this service can include a front and back cover designer or illustration.
Will I receive the original artwork?
You will receive the finished, full-size digital file of the cover design, but not
the physical original piece of artwork.
